Kristen Bell is an exceptionally talented actress whose extraordinary performances have been critically acclaimed. As well as starring in multiple films and TV series, Kristen is a talented stage actress and has been the voice of popular shows such as Gossip Girl and the Frozen film franchise. In addition to acting, multi-talented Kristen has become more involved in the production of new shows, published her first book and alongside her husband, she recently founded Hello Bello a plant-based baby food business.
Born on 1980 in Michigan into a middle-class family, Kristen’s career began at the age of 13 when her mother hired an agent for her which saw her appear in newspaper advertisements. At the same time, she started taking acting lessons and began performing in school plays. She won her first audition in 1992 for a dual role as a banana and a tree. Kristen began to consider acting professionally during her high school years, as a member of the drama and music club she won a lead role in the 1997 school production of The Wizard of Oz, starring as Dorothy Gale. After high school, Kristen went on to study at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Alongside her studies, she regularly performed in stage productions and made her Broadway debut as Beck Thatcher in The Adventure of Tom Sawyer.
Her breakthrough role came in the teen noir drama series Veronica Mars, for which she received critical acclaim and was awarded the Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television. Kristen was praised for her exceptional performance in the film Gracie’s Choice and starred as Elle Bishop in the popular show Heroes. Other notable works Kristen has starred in include, House of Lies opposite Don Cheadle and The Good Place which she received a Golden Globe Award nomination. Her breakout film came in Forgetting Sarah Marshall 2008 which positioned her to star in multiple comedies including Couples Retreat, You Again, The Boss and Bad Moms among others. More recently, Kristen has portrayed the lead role in The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window and is the narrator for Gossip Girl 2021.
Alongside co-writer Benjamin Hart, Kristen published her first book, The World Needs More Purple People, a children’s book released in 2020. She has also been involved in many philanthropic activities most notably as a co-founder of This Saves Lives bar which donates its profit to help feed malnourished children around the world. So far, the organisation has donated more than 10 million food packets to Haiti, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
