Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar-winning actress, cookbook author and businesswoman, who has starred in multiple high-grossing films. A metaphor for elegance and sophistication, Gwyneth can be frequently seen as the face of luxury brands such as Estee Lauder and Coach. She is also the founder of Goop a lifestyle brand that reflects Gwyneth’s own lifestyle and interests.
Born into a prominent acting family in LA in 1972, Gwyneth landed her first role in the film High in 1989. So inspired by her mother’s performances every summer at the Williamstown Theatre Festival she decided to make her stage debut in 1990. Gwyneth is recognised for films such as Sliding Doors, Emma, Seven and A Perfect Murder. Her extraordinary performance in Shakespeare in Love gained wide acclaim and she won an Academy Award for Best Actress.
Other notable roles held by Gwyneth included The Talented Mr Ripley, The Royal Tenenbaums, Shallow Hal, Sky Captain, and the World of Tomorrow. After giving birth she dedicated most of her time to raising her children, however, despite appearing in fewer films she went on to gain a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Proof and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in Glee. Gwyneth also received a Grammy Award nomination for the audiobook Brown Bear and Friends.
Initially launching Goop as a weekly lifestyle newsletter in 2008, Gwyneth decided to expand the brand into a web-based company selling a variety of products ranging from fashion to alternative medicine. Gwyneth has also written several healthy-style cookbooks providing clean recipes. She is also involved in philanthropic and political causes acting as an ambassador for Save the Children and hosting a fundraising event that was attended by President Obama. A phenomenal speaker who is articulate on several topics, Gwyneth can be seen interviewing celebrities on Goop in addition to appearing at high-profile events such as JPMorgan’s Women on the Move Leadership Day.
