Caroline Farberger is on a mission to create competitive, inclusive and sustainable businesses. Former CEO of ICA Insurance, Caroline played a pivotal role in the organisation becoming the fastest growing consumer insurer in Sweden. Entrusted with numerous senior management positions throughout her career, Caroline is an experienced leader. Her personal experience as the first senior business leader in the Nordics to openly speak about her gender transition makes Caroline a highly sought-after speaker on inclusion, authenticity and diversity.

Born and raised as Carl Farberger, Caroline was 50 when she transitioned to who she is today. Her journey is rife with lessons on how promoting inclusivity in leadership can transform businesses and lives. She firmly believes that developing a culture in which people are accepted and celebrated for their true, authentic selves is the key to successful businesses. This culture can only be cultivated by strong leadership who promote diversity and inclusion within teams. In addition to her work, Caroline is also a Member of the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council, a role through which she promotes female investments in the global investment industry.

After attaining a BA in Business Economics from the University of Gothenburg and an MSc in Electric Engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology, Caroline assumed responsibility as an Engagement Manager Consultant at McKinsey. Since then, she has held eminent positions at various organisations such as VP of Marketing at Trygg-Hansa, Co-Founder & CEO of InsMark, Director of BearingPoint, and Director of Pricing & Underwriting at Codan Fordikring. Caroline currently serves as a Board Member & Chairperson of the Risk & Audit Committee at QRed and Senior Advisor at Wellstreet.

A prolific speaker, Caroline delivered the TEDx talk “Living As Your True Self”, through which she chronicled her journey to finding her identity and how she was able to live authentically after transitioning from Carl to Caroline. Never holding back from speaking about her journey as a member of the LGBTQ community, Caroline was named the LGBTQ Person of the Year in 2019 at the QX Gala. She has also received the Womenomics Leadership Award, and the Kerstin Hesselgren Award. Exhibiting courage, bravery and outspokenness throughout her career, Caroline is an advocate and ambassador for diversity & inclusive leadership. She is keen on assisting organisations in adopting inclusive policies and systems. Caroline's autobiography "Jag, Caroline" was published in 2020.
