Camilla Thurlow shot to fame in 2017 when she was a runner-up on the third series of Love Island. Since then, she has gone on to become a popular social media influencer and television personality appearing on the likes of SAS: Who Dares Wins. Not your average social media star, before heading into the Love Island villa Camilla was a keen humanitarian campaigner travelling all over the world to embark on good causes. This is something she has continued to do since leaving the show making her one of the most unique, and inspirational influencers around. When booked as an after-dinner speaker Camilla regularly wows audiences with her thought-provoking speeches on a wide range of topics.          

While Love Island certainly catapulted Camilla to fame in 2017 it wasn’t her first time appearing on British TV. Years previously she appeared on TV in her native Scotland where she was crowned Miss Edinburgh, a sure sign of things to come. Since the show’s finale, where she finished in second place, Camilla’s stature has grown exponentially. A regular on some of the UK’s most popular TV shows, her own series was commissioned by ITVBe, What Camilla Did Next. The documentary followed Camilla’s post Love Island journey placing a large focus on her humanitarian efforts. This included her embarking on an excursion to Cambodia. With over a million followers on Instagram Camilla can often be found promoting causes close to her heart such as environmental work.

Prior to becoming an influencer, Camilla had a very different career path. She worked as an explosive ordnance disposal expert working in some of the world’s most hostile environments helping to identify unexploded bombs. This role took her to the likes of Afghanistan, Georgia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Sri Lanka. During her speaking events, she is able to discuss the dangers of this role and her work alongside charities such as Help Refugees, Halo Trust and Stand Up 2 Cancer.
