Alison Kosik is a financial journalist and freelance reporter/anchor for ABC News. Alongside being an author, she is a certified Financial Educator and Instructor, aiming to assist individuals, teams, and organisations with the skills and knowledge to achieve financial autonomy.
Achieving a BA in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from American University, Alison began her career as a reporter for KZTV-TV, moving through various reporter and business correspondent roles before serving as an anchor/reporter at Bloomberg News. She then moved on to being a Business Anchor/Correspondent at CNN for over 15 years, covering the turbulent New York Stock Exchange. Since 2023, she has been a freelance anchor and correspondent for ABC News. Throughout her career, she has interviewed numerous CEOs on national and global economics, tariffs, investing, sports, technology, climate change, energy, AI, Cryptocurrencies, and more.
Alison has been a Fellow of the International Radio and Television Society and received a Florida AP Award for Best Spot News, as well as a Scripps Howard New Media Fellowship from Columbia University. She is the author of ‘What’s Up with Women and Money?’, empowering women by providing them with actionable plans about how to successfully navigate their finances.
Through inspiring and insightful discussions on monetary decisions and encouraging women to grow confidence in organising their finances, Alison shares her journey to financial freedom after the breakdown of her marriage. She speaks on financial education, investing, budgeting, managing debt, credit scores, and more. She recently spoke on the New York Stock Exchange International Women’s Day Panel, demonstrating her speaking prowess and financial knowledge.
