Adam Simmonds is a celebrity chef known for his sophisticated and beautifully-crafted cooking, which has earnt him a plethora of awards and recognition. Simmonds has worked his way from a pot washer at a pub in Leighton Buzzard to top London hotels like The Ritz, The Halkin and The Lanesborough. He achieved his first Michelin Star at Ynyshir Hall in Wales in 2006 before moving on to establish Adam Simmonds at Danesfield House as one of the country's finest restaurants. With consistently high ratings from the Good Food Guide, Michelin stars and a handful of AA rosettes, Adam Simmons is an unstoppable force.
Since he aged 14, Adam knew he was destined to have a career in the culinary arts. His love for food ignited whilst prizing the time his loving family spent having meals together when he was younger. Adam found cooking to be something practical and something he could do that wouldn’t leave him bored whilst struggling with his dyslexia. As one of only two boys in his home economics class, Adam left school aged 16 and landed his first job in the industry as a pot washer and sandwich maker at the Globe Inn, Leighton Buzzard. Next, he attended catering college and moved to London after landing a position as an apprentice at Le Gavroche. Adam progressed on, working in roles at The Ritz, Burts, The Halkin, The Lanesborough, as well as Marco Pierre White’s Les Saveurs and L’Escargot.
Gaining his experience hands-on in the kitchen, Adam advanced from an apprentice to sous chef. After working as Sous Chef for both Paul Heathcote and Raymond Blanc, Adam left London to work in his first role as Head Chef at The Greenway in Cheltenham. In under a year, he received three AA rosettes and a rating of 7/10 from the Good Food Guide. Multiplying his accolades, after joining Ynyshir Hall in Wales in 2006, Adam achieved his first Michelin star, four AA rosettes and 8/10 Good Food Guide rating. Leaving what he built in Wales, Adam made ‘the biggest decision’ of his life to leave to reform Danesfield House. Renaming the venue Adam Simmonds at Danesfield House, the restaurant was placed 13th in the country in the 2013 publications list with Adam receiving his second Michelin star, another four AA rosettes and another 8/10 rating from Good Food Guide.
Simmonds himself describes his food as 'modern with flavours that come together perfectly on the plate without being over-complicated’. He enjoys exploring the occasional unusual flavour combination, making dishes shine for him. The AA Guide has remarked on Simmonds's 'head-spinning depth and clarity of flavours', while the Good Food Guide states that he 'has perfected a culinary style full of understated personal flourishes'. As a highly skilled chef, Adam is available to hire to demonstrate and entertain all audiences, adding flavour to your event.
