Talented athlete Adam Gemili is best known for his talents as an elite sprinter, having claimed an impressive tally of medals already in his career. Having competed at a host of prestigious competitions, such as the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, Adam has learnt how to channel drive and determination to maximise his peak performance. Now booked as a speaker for corporate events, Adam is hired to share the successes he has achieved so far, his ambitions for the future and how to obtain peak performance.
Best known for his elite sprinting abilities, Adam made headlines as the second British athlete to break the 20-second barrier competing in the 200m. Throughout his career, Adam has claimed several medals including nine Gold, seven Silver and two Bronze medals. He has been the 2012 World Junior Champion in the 100m and 2014 European Champion in the 200m. Before becoming an elite sprinter, Adam also enjoyed a career as a footballer playing for Chelsea, Thurrock, Reading and Dagenham & Redbridge.
Interested in sport from a young age, Adam completed a BTEC in Sport and began playing in his youth career as a footballer back in 2001. Signed to Chelsea, Adam played with the team from when he was eight years old and then went on to join Reading. He then went on to join Dagenham & Redbridge, before joining Thurrock in 2011 and playing in the Isthmian League. Before long, Adam faced the challenging decision of whether to focus his interests on playing football or competing in athletics. Winning his first medal at the 2011 European Athletics Championships, Adam made the decision to take up athletics full time in 2012.
Since transitioning to athletics full time, Adam has enjoyed a successful junior and senior athletics career. Having claimed two Silver European Championship medals and two Gold Junior Athletics medals, Adam was given the opportunity to represent his country at the London 2012 Olympic Games in the 100m and the 4 x 100m relay. Unfortunately, Adam failed to make it to the final in the Olympics, yet still remained determined to achieve success in his sport and returned to compete at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Adam has also been selected as a board member of the Track and Field Athletes’ Union, The Athletics Association.
With an already successful career behind him and more to follow, Adam is now a popular choice as a speaker for corporate and after dinner events. Having shown immense promise in elite sport, Adam has honed the qualities of drive and determination to ensure that he is able to maximise his peak performance and reach the top in his sport. Having claimed an impressive tally of medals, Adam Gemili is the perfect speaker to inspire others to get into sport and is the perfect speaker for sports-themed events.
