History is being made across Leicestershire this month, with some of the best and brightest businesses from across the region assembling for the opening week of the inaugural Leicester Business Festival. Following the event’s launch on Monday at the city’s postmodern Curve theatre, proceedings immediately got into full swing with the Leicester Mercury Business Summit at the Phoenix Arts Centre.
Some of the region’s most prominent figures from the world of business were in attendance, engaging in networking opportunities with fellow entrepreneurs, while a number of expert keynote speakers drew on their many years of industry experience to give informative speeches onstage.
The event was emceed by David Bryon, the former managing director of bmibaby. A veteran businessman with experience in media and comedy, he was part of the senior management team that set up the low-cost carrier in 2002, working as the firm’s commercial director for 18 months before rising to the top of the corporate ladder as its MD.
Since leaving the now-defunct company, David returned to the media sector and has built an excellent reputation as both a professional business speaker and a highly amusing leadership speaker.
As an event host, David mixes sound business advice with hilarious tales from the aviation industry, revealing the funny side of airport check-ins, in-flight communication, customer relations and other highlights of modern flying.
