Award-winning food entrepreneur and esteemed retail speaker, Claire Brumby founded Scrubbys Vegetable Crisps with her husband; this journey was a roller-coaster, and then some!
Claire’s journey in retail has provided a bounty of experience both good and challenging; bringing a brand from a dream to conception and reality. Claire can cover any or all aspects of this within her talks, presentations and workshops, articulated not only through the eyes of an entrepreneur but also as a woman, wife and mum of three children.
Claire has many a tale to tell from how she found herself invited to St James Palace, to networking with royalty, to rubbing shoulders with celebrities, and delivering real accounts of how each step of the business was a feat of its own.
The success with which she brought her brand into the public eye and has encouraged growth and popularity prove Claire’s business acumen whilst her own personal determination and passion mark her as an inspirational and informative business speaker.
Established in 2012 Scrubby’s is the healthy alternative to Britain’s favourite snack, with less salt and fat, these vegetable crisps promote a more varied and healthy diet for children, young people and crisp enthusiasts across the country.
Bringing her personal experience as a mother together with her professional experience Claire Brumby has become both a successful business owner and much sought after retail speaker.
With awards won for the Scrubby’s brand, individual recipes and her own business management and marketing abilities Claire Brumby’s biggest achievement remains the raising of her three wonderful children.
With husband John by her side Claire developed Scrubby’s crisps from scratch, determined to create a snack that other mother’s would be proud to give their children; Claire’s achievement, and the popularity of her brand, helped to secure a prestigious Mumpreneur award for Claire in 2012.
Alongside this Claire is proud of the Gold Star awarded to Scrubby’s for their Beetroot, Sweet Potato, and Parsnip & Carrot with Sea Salt recipe from the Guild of Fine Food in 2013 whilst the brand as a whole was also shortlisted in the 2012 Free From Awards and won Theo Paphitis’s Small Business Sunday (SBS) Award.
Claire has also been given great praise for her work as a business speaker, appearing at conferences and after dinner speaker events across the UK Claire is applauded for her passion and the creativity of her brand.
Despite an ultimately unsuccessful appearance on Dragon’s Den Scrubby’s is now stocked by some of the most high end grocers and department stores in the UK including dual listings in Waitrose and Ocado not to mention sales with Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Partridges.
As a retail speaker Claire not only provides an insight into how she achieved such success for Scrubby’s but also how she balances a busy and fruitful work life with the responsibilities and joys of motherhood.
