Former Arctic Scientist, Felicity Aston became the first woman to ski alone across Antarctica in 2012, a journey of 1744km that took 59 days to complete. Her career began in 2000 at the age of 23, Aston spent 2 1/2 years in Antarctic with the British Antarctic Survey monitoring climate change, leading exhibitions to remote and secluded locations. One of her many achievements being leading the largest and most international team of women ever to ski to the South Pole.
Aston is on the Council of the Royal Geographical Society and acting as an ambassador for two inspiring charities, The British Antarctic Monument Trust and Equal Adventure. She is also an ambassador for the First Women project. When not on expedition, Felicity has worked closely with a number of expedition-related organisations, sitting on the Council of the Young Explorers Trust and of British Exploring.
She has also had experience with TV when flying across North America co-presenting a BBC science documentary,Operation Cloud Lab: Secrets of the Skies as well as spending a month retracing the route of the 1898 Klondike Goldrush across the Yukon, co-presenting a documentary mini-series for BBC History.
