Nottingham born television and radio presenter Penny Smith has worked in broadcasting for more than twenty years, beginning her career as a reporter and feature writer for the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, Penny has gone on to work as a radio presenter for some of the biggest broadcasters in the UK. Now working as a radio presenter for BBC Radio London, Penny Smith has reported from locations around the world, including spending a short period reporting on current affairs for Radio Television Hong Kong.
Her first job in British television was as a press officer for Central Television where she focused specifically on dramas and documentaries, she then progressed to working as the co-host and TV presenter for the local evening news for Border Television where she remained until moving to Thames News where she worked alongside notable television and radio presenter Andrew Gardner.
Although she does not exclusively work for the BBC Penny Smith can frequently be found on both BBC radio and television programmes, she regularly reviews the newspapers on BBC TV and stands in on the Radio 2 Friday Night Arts Show. Alongside her work as a television and radio presenter Smith also contributes to a number of newspapers and magazines. She has previously acted as a radio presenter for Classic FM where she shared her love of opera with the listeners.
Outside her work as a radio presenter and broadcaster Penny Smith has released a number of yoga training videos, sharing her love of the sport and promoting healthy lifestyles to people across Britain.
