Mike Catt OBE is a retired rugby union player who is highly regarded as one of England’s greatest players of all time. A truly inspiring figure and total professional, Catt is recognised worldwide as a role model for young rugby union players to look up to. Playing domestically for Bath and London Irish, Catt enjoyed a highly successful, 18 year career in which he made over 300 appearances.
He was a part of England’s 2003 Rugby World Cup winning squad and then became the oldest player to ever play in a World Cup final in the 2007 tournament. Eventually, Catt moved to London Irish in 2004 and would stay here until the end of his career in 2010. During his time with the club, Catt made 76 appearances, scoring 61 points. Catt’s international career started in 1994 and he played 75 times for England before retiring from international rugby. Catt was awarded an MBE for his services to rugby which was then upgraded to an OBE just one year later.
