Ex-British Lions player, sports speaker and, in more recent years, popular reality TV star and host, Austin Healey is known for his successful rugby career and prominent personality which earned him the name ‘the Leicester Lip’ during his time at Leicester Tigers Rugby Club.

A prolific rugby speaker, Healey’s professional career began in 1994 and included ten years at the Leicester Tigers; after his retirement in 2006 Healey began working as a rugby speaker and playing club rugby for Division One team Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Football Club.

Healey has worked as a sports speaker and presenter for both the BBC and ITV, and, in this respect, is probably most well-known for hosting the series The Big Tackle which aimed at promoting and assisting rugby clubs around the UK; alongside hosting and working as a rugby speaker for the show Austin Healey began training as a coach in order to further help develop the various clubs he encountered.

Beyond his work as a rugby speaker, Austin Healey has built up a popular and successful career as a reality TV star: appearing on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing Healey’s fancy foot work saw him averaging a total of 34/40 over the 12 weeks he was on the show.
