Marlon Devonish

Former English sprinter and British Olympian, Marlon Devonish MBE specialised in 100 and 200 metres on the track and is now a prized member of the after-dinner speaker circuit. The four-times world champion is considered a leading expert in achieving peak performance, retaining drive and determination as well as maximising success. His speeches are renowned for inspiring audiences and leaving a lasting and effective impression on whoever he addresses.

Throughout his early career, Marlon realised his athletic potential when he won several school and junior titles. He became a member of the British and Commonwealth Games whilst being coached at the Coventry Godiva Harriers athletics club by Tony Lester. He became a staple member of the English 4 x 100-metre sprint relay team at the Commonwealth Games and even became the record holder in the relay event of the games in which still stands today.

He qualified for his first Olympics in 2004 when he managed to win a gold medal in the 4 x 100m relay event. Along with Jason Gardener, Darren Campbell and Mark Lewis-Francis, he managed to defy all expectations and claim victory over the favourites by 0.01 seconds. At the 2006 British Championships, Marlon made history when he became the first man since 1988 to win both the 100 and 200-metre races at the event. He managed to defend his 100-metre title at the following years British Championships with a new personal best before representing his country at the 2008 Bejing Olympic Games. At the 2009 Manchester City Games, Devonish managed to take silver to the legend that is Usain Bolt and came third at the IAAF World Championships in Berlin.

Most recently, Devonish has coached various teams including the Gloucester Rugby team. He is also working for the British International School in Shanghai as the high-performance coach. He is also now taking his in-depth knowledge and skill within athletics, achieving peak performance and mental resilience to offer the most valuable advice to audiences of high-profile corporations, aspiring business and young people all over the UK.
