Jos Buttler


Joseph Charles Buttler, or Jos Buttler as he is more commonly known, is a British cricket speaker and player best known as a member of the Lancashire County Team.

Born in Somerset in 1990 Buttler is a talented right-handed batsman and able wicket keeper who maintains a successful career as a cricket speaker alongside his duties as a player. He made his debut for Somerset County’s first-team in 2009 after being named Young Wisden’s School Player of the Year.

Beginning his career as a sports speaker whilst still a school boy Jos Buttler was made part of the England Under-19’s team and joined them on their 2010 trip to New Zealand for the Under-19’s Cricket World Cup.

An impressive player from an early age Jos Buttler made his maiden first-class century in his fourth County Championship match and was named Man of the Match at Somerset’s semi-final victory over Nottinghamshire in the Friend’s Providence T20 in 2012. Whilst at Somerset Buttler developed a record breaking partnership with fellow cricket speaker and Buckinghamshire born James Hildreth during their County Championship match against Sussex.

Jos Buttler left Somerset in 2013 to become a sports speaker and player for Lancashire where he has continued to show promise and garner success.
