International cricketer and current vice-captain of the England limited-overs team, Jos Buttler has established himself as one of the largest names in British sport and is now using his incredible skill set, wisdom and charm to entertain and inform some of the largest corporate organisations in the UK. Born in Somerset, Jos’ early career began as part of his home county’s youth teams where he developed senior level abilities by the age of 15 and later made his debut for Cheddar in 2005.
Whilst playing for King’s College, he managed to come out on top of the schools batting average on two separate occasions after scoring 447 runs at an average of 49.66 in the 2006 season and 358 at 51.14 a year later. He eventually went onto join the England under-19 team where he played for them in New Zealand during the Under-19 2010 Cricket World Cup.
Since then he has made more than 170 appearances internationally and has played for domestic clubs including Melbourne Renegades, Lancashire and Mumbai Indians. Throughout his career, he has earned a variety of titles including T20I XI by Cricinfo in 2013 and was also named in the ICC World ODI XI in 2016. With a top ODI score of 150 and a Test batting average of 33.94, it’s evident that Jos is an stand-out figure within the sport.
Buttler continues to display an unbeatable performance for England today. Having been named Man of the Series during the ODI series against Australia in 2018 and scoring his maiden century as the vice-captain of England’s team during India’s 2018 tour, he managed to secure himself a place in the 2019 Cricket World Cup team. A pivotal member of the victorious team, Buttler completed the run out of the match-winning ball of Martin Guptil.
Recently in the 2020 New Year Honours, Jos was appointed an MBE in recognition for his services to cricket. Described as “the first-ever global Twenty20 superstar”, Jos Buttler has made his mark in the sporting world and is now joining the after-dinner speaking circuit as a leader in teamwork and achieving peak performance. As he is no stranger to success, his anecdotal material never fails to impress and leave audiences feeling incredibly inspired and empowered.
