Sir Vince Cable

Former Liberal Democrats party leader, Sir Vince Cable has devoted his life to British politics. From representing his constituency to leading the Cabinet as Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Sir Vince Cable is one of the most experienced politicians. Passionate about following a career in politics, Sir Vince Cable lectured at the University of Glasgow and London School of Economics, where he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre of the Study for Global Governance. Aside from his position as party leader, Sir Vince Cable has been heavily involved in local and national politics for over fifty years. He won over a Conservative holding to make Twickenham a Liberal Democratic constituency which he was the Member of Parliament for for a total of twenty years between 1997 and 2019.

For a period of five years prior to his election as leader, Sir Vince Cable served as the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, where he was responsible for policies affecting these areas and implementing strategies to support innovation and skills.
