Utpal Chakraborty

Utpal Chakraborty is a foremost AI researcher, data scientist and strategist with over two decades of experience. Presently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at IntellAI NeoTech, Utpal is known for his leading role in propagating the Government of India’s Vision of AI for all and his work in making India a world leader in AI. Having spoken at over 500 conferences, Utpal is a highly sought-after speaker on topics including AI, IoT, agile and lean processes, cyber security, deep learning, web3 and blockchain.

After completing his education at the universities of Pune, Gauhat and William Carey, Utpal joined Knbay Software as a Software Architect before joining IBM as an Architect, working on interfaces, quality assurances, and quality control reviews. Following that, he became Service Delivery Manager at Capgemini, responsible for designing and architecting all critical new developments using IoT, AI and Big Data. He then landed the role of Principal Architect of AI and Analytics at Firmenich before joining Larsen and Toubro Infotech as Principal Architect, Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive.

In 2018, Utpal became Head of Artificial Intelligence at YES BANK, alongside his research and mentoring work. An esteemed AI and data science expert, Utpal has over 300 articles published in leading newspapers and academic journals such as India Express, Times, Swiss Cognitive and Global CXO. Moreover, he has written multiple books, including Artificial Intelligence for All, Artificial Intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Quantum Computing and Future, and Rise of Generative AI and ChatGPT.

A thought leader in AI and quantum science, Utpal has been recognised as an AI Global Ambassador 2022, Top 15 AI Global Key Opinion Leader, Top 20 AI Influencer and Top 10 Chief Digital Officer 2022.
