
Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic is the Chief Innovation Officer of Manpower Group, a workforce solutions company enabling organisations to succeed through effective management and development of talent. Tomas is focused on developing science-based tools that aid organisations in better understanding their employees whilst predicting human performance, backed by his expertise in two main areas of psychology: business psychology and consumer psychology. Tomas has worked with various high-profile clients such as Spotify, J.P. Morgan, Walmart, Google, and more.
With an MSc and PhD in Psychology from University College London, Tomas has been a Professor of Business Psychology at the university since 2004. He was a Professor at New York University (NYU) and a Speaker at The World Bank before co-founding META Profiling Limited, a company focused on entrepreneurial talent. He was the former CEO of Hogan Assessment Systems and has been a Professor at Columbia University since 2014. Tomas has been a Strategic Advisor for the United Nations since 2017 and is currently a Visiting Professor at Harvard University. He is also the co-founder of Deeper Signals, which utilises AI to provide organisations with the ability to better recruit and develop talent.
He has held numerous academic and guest lecturing roles at prestigious institutions like NYU, London School of Economics, Harvard Business School, Stanford Business School, London Business School, John Hopkins, IMD, and INSEAD. He is currently an Associate at Harvard's Entrepreneurial Finance Lab. Tomas has received the Early Career Development award from the International Society for the Study of Individual Differences, the Daniel E. Berlyne Award for Outstanding Research by a Junior Scholar from the American Psychological Association, and is a fellow of the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Tomas has had over 150 academic and business articles published and is the author of 11 books including ‘I, Human: AI, Automation, and the Quest to Reclaim What Makes Us Unique’, ‘The Talent Delusion: Why Data, Not Intuition, Is the Key to Unlocking Human Potential’ and his newest book ‘Don’t Be Yourself: Why Authenticity Is Overrated (And What To Do Instead).
With regular contributions in Forbes, the Harvard Business Review, and The Guardian, Tomas has made over 100 media appearances, including on BBC, Sky, and CNN. He has also delivered multiple TEDx talks, the most popular being ‘Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders?’, in which he demonstrates his unconventional thinking and expertise in the realms of understanding human behaviour. Tomas is set to speak at the 2025 Mercer Asia HR Conference. As a keynote speaker for the Institute of Economic Affairs, Tomas knows how to engage an audience and deliver succinct knowledge and education on the growing intersection of psychology, AI, and human performance.
