After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Clemson University and attending CIA Interview and Interrogation School, Tom began his career as a Staff Auditor and Forensic Accountant at KMPG in 1992. In 1995, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) as a Special Agent, where he was assigned to the Bank Fraud Squad. Tom confidently led high-stakes and complex investigations involving investment fraud, embezzlement and large-scale financial crimes. Being assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force working on the Human Intelligence Squad in 2016, he managed caseloads of multi-million-pound white-collar crimes.
After retiring from the FBI in 2021, Tom created his own private investigating company, Simon Worldwide Investigations LLC. Tom aims to set the gold standard in financial fraud investigations and relentlessly uncover fraud to protect assets and empower businesses. Continuing to share his experience, he is also a true crime content creator with a large and expanding following across social platforms. In addition, he has appeared on shows such as CNBC's American Greed, along with shedding light on true-crime as a guest on renowned podcasts.
