Terry Alderton is the definition of original. His slick, fast-paced comedy routines combine characterisation of multiple identities, to create a truly unique experience. Whether he is mimicking a secret conversation turned away from the audience or his mother's attempt to play video games, guests will come away from the set wondering what on earth just happened and why couldn't they stop laughing. Terry's battle with "the voices", two opposing personalities in his head brought to life on stage, make him a comedian unlike any other. Whereas some may rely on comical anecdote, Terry creates an immersive, unpredictable experience.
Born in Essex, Terry first career was far from the comedy circuit; he was a goalkeeper for Southend United. Following injuries, he turned his hand to comedy - and it wasn't long before Terry was nominated for the Perrier Comedy Award. His first major television role was on Bleeding Thumbs, where he worked alongside Dermot O'Leary and Kate Thornton. Terry joined the National Lottery team when the show was decommissioned, on a portion of the show called Red Alert.
Terry quickly rose to fame. In 2001, he hosted The Joy of Text, a messaging themes programme which was also presented by Lulu. Expanding beyond television, Terry worked on Capital Radio's show Terry's Turnstiles, a radio programme which was a fan favourite among listeners. Additional roles include on the Setanta Sports News channel as a presenter and multiple sets on Comedy Store and Live at the Apollo.
A man of many talents, Terry also had a popular acting career, starting as Charlie Mead on London's Burning and ending with EastEnders in 2013. Terry continues to present for Virgin Media Sport, taking on the personas of Mr Sheepskin and Danny Dire. In 2010, he even appeared on the West End, performing in a one-man show at the Bloomsbury Theatre. From the Melbourne Australia Comedy Festival to Edinburgh Comedy Festival, Terry has enjoyed unprecedented international success.
Due to his set at the New Zealand Comedy Festival, Terry was awarded the 3 Weeks Critics Award and Best International Act. Terry continues to tour his act, making now the best time to book this relevant, popular comedian. Ideal for corporate audiences and adult parties, his risque material continues to amaze audiences with his creativity.
