Tasha Stones

Tasha Stones is widely respected for appearing on our television screens as a contestant on the 2023 season of The Great British Bake Off. As the first deaf contestant to appear on the show, Tasha was assisted by her British Sign Language interpreter Daryl and became a fan-favourite with audiences across the UK. Having worked with the National Deaf Children’s Society for many years, she has utilised this experience to overcome her fears, and proudly advocate for the community. An inspirational figure for audiences internationally, Tasha is now a highly sought-after speaker for a wide range of events.

Tasha’s love for baking began with fond memories from her childhood, when her mum and grandma would bake sweet treats on special occasions. Since baking for her school friends and teachers who encouraged her to pursue her passion, baking has become a hobby ever since. Utilising this as a way to express herself creatively, she relishes in creating near-impossible designs, which she has recently showcased during her time on The Great British Bake Off. Alongside her baking, Tasha has built a remarkable career for herself as a Participation Officer, whilst also working alongside the National Deaf Children’s Society.

In 2023, Tasha was announced as the first ever deaf contestant on The Great British Bake Off. From the very beginning of the show, she was admired greatly for her professional-level abilities and was awarded Star Baker in ‘Bread Week’. Her unique flavours and technical abilities were also recognised by Paul Hollywood’s iconic handshake. With Daryl, her British Sign Language interpreter, by her side, Tasha was supported and included in all aspects of the show, and it has even been rumoured that hosts Paul and Prue worked on their sign language to make her feel welcome. Using the show to advocate for the deaf community, this experience has inspired audiences globally to push themselves out of their comfort zones to achieve a greater level of success.

An admired figure throughout the community, Tasha Stones is now highly sought-after to attend speaking engagements internationally. As a talented baker, her personal growth and industry expertise are now admired in a wide range of professional fields, from the corporate industry to the sports world.
