Suzanne Collins knew from a young age that she wanted to be an actress; she was greatly committed to her craft and began studying drama aged 16, by 19 she had landed a recurring role in the long running Channel 4 soap opera Brookside. As an actress Collins’ career as stretched across the realms of film, television and theatre though many still remember her for her portrayal of Nikki Shadwick; however after Brookside aired its final episode in 2003 Suzanne took her career in a new direction turning her skills as an actress to those of a TV presenter.
Still in front of the camera Collins began working as a TV presenter for a number of high profile shows including Wish You Were Here for ITV and Xchange for the BBC. Returning to life as an actress after the birth of her daughter Collins received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Maggie in the comedy Back up the Mersey Tunnels at Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre.
Suzanne also believes in the importance of supporting and educating future actors & actresses, she is director of the Suzanne Collins Academy of Dance which trains future performers and has also taken part in a number of charity fund raising events, most notably completing the Liverpool Marathon.
