
Culinary performer, presenter, broadcaster and author, Stefan Gates is a highly entertaining and unique act that can make a statement at a whole variety of corporate events and functions. Throughout his early career, Gates worked majoritively in the film industry in roles including assistant director, scriptwriter and producer. He eventually became the co-writer on the BBC Two series Full on Food in 2004.
Stefan has made several other appearances on food-related television programmes throughout his career. He presented for the internationally acclaimed, Cooking in the Danger Zone where he travelled to dangerous countries in order to taste test their unusual food habits before becoming a children’s presenter for the show Gastronauts. He also wrote and starred in Feasts, presented BBC Two’s E Numbers: An Edible Adventure and BBC One’s Food Factory.
As a writer, Gates has written a total of eight highly commended books. 101 Dishes to Eat Before You Die, The Extraordinary Cookbook and most recently, Fartology: The Extraordinary Science Behind the Humble Fart, are all in keeping with his love for scientific experiments in the kitchen and have won him several awards including the Best Food Literature Book at the 2005 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
Most recently, he has made several appearances on Five’s The Wright Stuff, BBC Two’s Something for the Weekend and Good Food Channel’s Market Kitchen. He has also gone onto present his own documentary series for BBC Radio 4 which was titled Stefan Gates’ Cover Story. Additionally, he set up his own YouTube channel entitled Gastronuaut TV in 2014 to create another outlet where can demonstrate his crazy and insanely interesting skill within science and culinary. The channel has over 3.75 thousand subscribers and more than 70 thousand views.
