Shohreh Aghdashloo is a history making actress as the first Iranian woman to be Oscar nominated and to win an Emmy Award. Shohreh's prolific work on stage and screen has been lauded for decades in both her native Iran and all over the world, especially in her adopted home, the United States. American audiences know her best from her Oscar nominated performance in House of the Sand and Frog, her Emmy winning role in HBO’s acclaimed House of Saddam, and as the character 'Dina Araz' in the enormously successful Fox series 24. Amazon Studios will stream the all new 4th season of The Expanse globally on December 13, 2019. Shohreh will next be seen on the big screen in November starring alongside of Rita Wilson in the indie film Simple Wedding. Shohreh also served as an executive producer on the film. In film, Shohreh also recently stepped into the role of ‘Bano Ayoub’ in the Canadian Feature The Cuban and earlier this year Shohreh wrapped production working on the movie Run Sweetheart Run, a feminist horror-thriller co-produced by Bluehouse Productions and Automatik, in association with Quiet Girl Productions. In 2012, she received critical acclaim for portraying the title character in the legendary Federico Garcia Lorca's final theatrical play House of Bernarda Alba, in London at the famed Almeida Theatre. Shohreh is also an author, her memoir titled The Alley of Love and Yellow Jasmines was released by Harper Collins publishing in 2013. In the book Shohreh shares her fascinating personal journey of growing up in Tehran and the path that lead her to Los Angeles, where she juggled work, acting, and a family before landing the roles that would make her a star. Shohreh's other prestigious TV credits include: The Punisher, Grimm, Grey's Anatomy, House MD, Law & Order, Portlandia, Will & Grace, among many others. Shohreh's work in film includes blockbusters such as: Star Trek Beyond, X-Men -The Last Stand, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, and The Lake House.
