Samantha Baines is an award winning comedian, actress, author and broadcaster.
Samantha currently stars in Magic Mike Live London in the West End, directed by Channing Tatum. Samantha originated the role in the London Magic Mike stage show and also collaborated with Channing Tatum on the script and has received rave reviews, she will be performing in the show until June 2020.
In 2019 Samantha's first Children's fiction novel was published about a little girl with a hearing aid and was listed as one of the Best Children's Books of 2019 in the ipaper as well as the BookTrust's book of the month. Samantha writes for publications like The Guardian, The Independent, Time Out and was recently commissioned to write a pilot script for CBBC.
A talented actress, trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Samantha has recently appeared in Netflix's The Crown, Call the Midwife, BBC comedy Bucket alongside Miriam Margolyes and played a police officer in Silent Witness.
Samantha's feminist science stand up shows have taken the Edinburgh Fringe by storm; selling out her runs at The Pleasance Courtyard two years in a row, sell out extra shows added and excellent reviews. In 2017 she embarked on a UK tour with her smash hit show 1 Woman, a High Flyer and a Flat Bottom about the lost women of science, beginning at the Soho Theatre.
She is a UK Pun Championship Finalist 2018 & 2017, Funny Women Best Show nominee 2017, What the Frock Best Newcomer Award winner 2015, Funny Women finalist 2014 and Leicester Comedy Festival Pimp Your Pancake winner 2018. Samantha tours and gigs around the UK.
In 2020 Samantha's hit podcast The Divorce Club was selected for the London Podcast Festival, racking up over 120,000 downloads in its' first year and becoming the no.1 relationship podcast on the iTunes charts.
Samantha is often heard taking over the airwaves as a regular guest and cover presenter on BBC Radio London and BBC Radio Kent and has also presented shows on Virgin Radio and Hoxton Radio as well as regular appearances on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2 and Laura Whitmore's Show on BBC 5 Live.
Samantha is a hearing aid wearer and Ambassador for Action on Hearing Loss and the British Tinnitus Association and hearing loss activist.
