Lewis Macleod is a comedy impressionist and vocal actor who has voiced a number of well-known roles. He is best known as being the star of BBC Radio 4's Lewis Macleod Is Not Himself, BBC's Dead Ringers and ITV's Newzoids. He has recently finished filming as part of the Netflix series The Crown, where he will be playing Iain Tennent in the new series.
The list of voice acting roles that Lewis has played is extensive. He has voiced roles such as Sebulba from Star Wars I- The Phantom Menace, Postman Pat, Earl from Skatoony, Mr Happy and Mr Stubborn from The Mr Men Show.
He also provided his vocals to the Cartoon Network show, The Amazing World Of Gumball, when he played Principal Brown, Rocky Robinson, Miss Simian, The Doughnut Sherrif and Mr Small in the first season. Additionally, Lewis played the original voice of the protagonist in the CITV and HTV programme Bimble's Bucket.
As well as time spent voicing various roles, Lewis has also been a prominent feature on a number of radio broadcasts. He provided radio with a number of comedy sketches such as Off The Ball for BBC Radio Scotland, Bigipedia and Safety Catch for BBC Radio 4 as well as Newsjack for BBC Radio 7.
Additionally, Lewis has also lent his vocal talents to a number of video games. He played the voice of a number of characters in the Star Wars franchise video games as well as the voice of the 1999 video game Theme Park World. He played the voice of Sebulba in Star Wars Episode I: Racer, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing as well as Lego Star Wars: The Video Game.
He also voiced Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Star Wars: Obi-Wan, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds and Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing video games. Lewis also lent his voice to the Harry Potter video games voicing the characters Draco Malfoy, Albus Dumbledore, Fred Weasley and George Weasley in a series of the games.
As of 2014, Lewis voiced a number of characters in the programme Dead Ringers, as well as a number of celebrities in the ITV programme called Newzoids. He also took to children's TV with the voicing of a number of animals in the CBBC programme The Zoo. Lewis is also a regular feature of BBC Radio 2's show Steve Wright in the Afternoon
. On this show he is an impressionist comedian, voicing impressions of famous figures such as Paul McCartney, Donald Trump and Jeremy Vine. He also turns his hand to the impression of people such as Christopher Walken, Gordon Brown, Boris Johnson, George Galloway and Bill Clinton.
Lewis has also physically appeared in programmes not just as a vocal actor, playing the role of Paul McCartney in sketches for the BBC programme Harry & Paul. He has also taken the role of Iain Tennent in the Netflix show The Crown, set to feature in the new series. Lewis also appeared at the 2016 Edinburgh festival where he received a number of rave reviews for his comedic talent.
