Richard Browning

Richard Browning, the 'real life Iron Man', is a British inventor, entrepreneur and speaker who founded Gravity Industries Ltd in March 2017. This is the company behind the impressive Daedalus Mark 1 which is a jet pack that uses miniature jet engines to achieve vertical flight. An invention that achieved 32 mph resulting in him setting a Guinness World Record for the Fastest Speed in a Body Controlled Jet Engine Powered Suit. During an interview with the Daily Telegraph and Sky News tech programme Richard told them the Daedalus Mk 1 could "reach up speeds of 200 mph and can fly for 10 consecutive minutes at a few thousand feet" but he keeps everything to the lower spectrum as of present for safety reasons.

It was with the help of a small team during 2016 that Richard built Gravity's prototype flight suit, he tested and redeveloped for a year before launching the business. The suit took him fifteen months to build. Richard is the co-founder of Gravity Industries which is a human propulsion technology startup which aims to re-imagine the future of manned flight.Richard stated that personalised suits will be sold for £250,000 and in 2018 Selfridges sold a suit with five engines for the price of £340,000.

Richard has flown in his invention for multiple broadcasters and publications including Sky News, BBC's The One Show and Wired. On top of this he has also flown at live events such as TED's annual conference in Vancouver, TEDx Glasgow, Berlin's CUBE Connects and in front of hundreds of Red Bull executives in Nice. The suits ability is mind blowing and Richard has completed a flight from mainland UK to the Isle of Wight.
