Rebecca Adams is a writer, producer and presenter who had to deal with the loss of her mother to cancer at a young age and now helps others navigate their grief. Now, when hired as a speaker, with numerous years of experience working in front of a crowd, Rebecca confidently talks about the trauma she had to face when she was young, how she overcame it, being a female boss and mental health.
When she was 21, Rebecca quit her job as a bartender to pursue her dreams of working in the entertainment industry. She complete work experience with Triple M and worked in promotions with STAR FM before becoming a TV presenter for Channel 31. Rebecca then completed several different Internships with Ralph Carr Management, Vicious Recordings and the Australian College of Arts to prepare herself for a life in the entertainment industry. Her first real taste of presenting was for SYN FM where she co-hosted the breakfast programme ‘Get Cereal’, as well as ‘The Hoist’ and ‘The Naughty Rude Show’. Rebecca, a talented writer, also had spells as a Lifestyle Blogger, and Creative Writer for Canberra FM Radio PTY LTD. Her last position in Australia before moving to the UK was as an Assistant Television Producer for Southern Cross Austereo.
Upon moving to the UK, Rebecca has used her platform to help others cope with their grief of losing a loved one. She hosts grief events with Mental Health Matters where she gets much positive feedback from how honest and open she is. There is no beating around the bush with Rebecca, she does not tell her audience ‘everything will be ok’, because she, like many others, was not ok. She is also an avid supporter for LGBTQ+ rights and presents the LGBTQ Radio Programme, Gaydio. In 2020 Rebecca started working on making her own podcast ‘So This Is Adulting’. In recognition of her presenting talents, she was chosen to be the commentator for comedian Mark Dolan’s show on talkRADIO.
With an infectious and humorous personality, Rebecca can both uplift and inspire an audience. During her talks about mental health and grief, she does not feed the audience any lies but instead ensures they feel they are not alone, and she educates them on how to deal with their own grief. As a strong woman, she can also help women navigate the world of being a ‘girl boss’, encouraging to live their best life.
