Rachel Johnson is a prolific author, broadcaster and journalist who has been a columnist for publications such as The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Evening Standard and The Mail on Sunday. Currently a Presenter for LBC, she offers her insights and opinions on current affairs whilst leading debates every week. She also served as a Contributing Editor at the Spectator before assuming responsibility as Editor of The Lady. Established in 1885, Rachel was tasked with breathing new life into the magazine. Her journey in doing so has been featured in the Channel 4 documentary, The Lady and the Revamp and her book “A Diary of The Lady: My First Year as Editor”.
Belonging to one of Britain’s most prominent political families, Rachel made every effort to stop Brexit, running against her older brother Boris Johnson in 2019. She writes about her experience in her latest book “Rake’s Progress: The Madcap True Tale of My Political Midlife Crisis”. Rachel has authored books such as “The Mummy Diaries”, “Notting Hell”, “Shire Hell”, “Fresh Hell”, “Winter Games”, and “Rake’s Progress: My Political Midlife Crisis”. Rachel also created the BBC Four documentary How to Be a Lady: An Elegant History in 2012.
Since 2021, she has been Host of Rachel Johnson’s Difficult Women, a Global podcast. She interviews women who had to be fearless in order to get what they want, firmly believing that women should take being called “difficult” as a compliment rather than an insult. Rachel has regularly appeared on shows such as Question Time, Any Questions, Have I Got News For You and Sky News’ weekly debate show The Pledge. She was also part of the 21st series of Celebrity Big Brother, the only former editor of The Lady magazine to have done so.
