Dr Paul Redmond, an expert in generations and the challenges that face the current students of today, is a leading speaker in the future of work and employability. Having worked a successful career ensuring the wellbeing and opportunities available to the students at many prestigious British universities, Paul is revered for his passions to create multi-generational workplaces. Widely known for his expertise in the graduate employment market, Paul is currently working as the Director of Student Experience and Enhancement at the University of Liverpool. In this role, Paul is responsible for ensuring the delivery of strategic leadership, educational and professional services at the university. He has also formerly worked as the Director of Student Life at The University of Manchester, spearheading the delivery of non-academic wellbeing support to students. During his time in such roles, Paul was able to deepen his understanding of Millennials and Generation X and how they will be integrated into the working world upon their graduation.
After his own studies at the University of Manchester, Paul started his career as the Deputy Director of Student Services at the Liverpool Hope University. This role gave Paul the responsibility of managing services available to students and allowed him to help guide and shape the careers of thousands of individuals. He later went on to become the Director of Employability and Educational Opportunities at the University of Liverpool. This role allowed Paul to develop his now detailed knowledge of the employment market for university graduates, understanding the challenges that face those seeking employment after education.
Other prominent roles of Paul’s include the time spent as the UK President of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Service. Paul has extensively researched Millennials and Generation Z and contributes a column to the Association of Graduate Recruiters magazine. He has also written the books Making it Happen- The New World of Graduate Recruitment, Talking About My Generation, A Parent’s Guide to Graduate Jobs and The Graduate Formula. His commitment to graduate employment and the future of work has also seen Paul be elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and help in the commission of the BBC documentary series, Who Gets The Best Jobs?
