Patrick Barwise is the Emeritus Professor of Management & Marketing at the London Business School – a role he has held since the 1970s. A renowned author, he has written several books on marketing, business management and media. As a keynote speaker, Patrick shares tips on how to improve business success and his expertise in marketing and sales.
Patrick’s career began as a Systems Engineer at IBM, later assuming responsibility as Marketing Director of Graphic Systems International. In addition to his role at the London Business School, Patrick has been Chairman of Which?. Europe’s largest consumer organisation. Patrick has also been a Specialist Advisor to the House of Lords Select Committee on Communications where he offered his insights on the regulation of TV advertising. He has also been a Visiting Senior Fellow in Media & Communication at LSE.
In 2020 Patrick published “The War Against the BBC” which brings focus on the attacks launched against the media organisation by commercial and political enemies. Author of “12 Powers of a Marketing Leader”, “Simply Better” and “Beyond the Familiar”, Patrick has established his prominence as a marketing and management expert, beyond his role in academia.
An Honorary Fellow of The Marketing Society & Chairman of the Market Research Society, Patrick has also been Chairman of the Archive of Market and Social Research.
