Best known as the presenter of Channel 5’s most prized television programme, The Gadget Show, Ortis Deley is a renowned TV presenter, radio DJ and actor. Having appeared on the likes of The Gadget Show and Live & Kicking, Deley has established himself as a highly popular television presenter, media personality and is now entering the after-dinner speaker circuit.
After studying for a degree in pharmacy at the University of Sunderland, Deley became a cast member of London Weekend Television’s Blind Date. With his personality proving to be a hit with the British public he became cast along with Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen in a 2006 feature film, Derailed. He began to be approached by various productions and therefore featured in the BBC’s Doctors, Alan Ayckbourn’s Confusions, Talkin’ Loud, Wildthyme at Large and Kidulthood.
Throughout his career, Deley has appeared on a variety of television programmes as a presenter. He worked for LWT and Trouble TV before joining the BBC and becoming the face of Short Change, Live & Kicking and Blankety Blank. Most notably, he has also presented for BBC Radio 5 Live throughout the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
In 2009, Ortis bought himself to the forefront of television presenters by joining the cast of The Gadget Show. Along with Suzi Perry, Jon Bentley and Jason Bradbury, Deley became a key member of the gadget team and participated in both entertaining and educational tasks including new and innovative technology entering the market. Following on from his success with Channel Five, he became the presenter of London’s Choice FM as well as the face of the IAAF World Athletics Championships in 2011. A highly versatile and popular TV presenter, Ortis Deley is also highly sought-after as an events host and after-dinner speaker.
