Ollie Thorn is a transformational keynote speaker renowned for his raw, human storytelling and powerful insights into resilience, leadership and inclusion. A former British Army Officer and professional para-athlete, Ollie rebuilt his life following a life-altering motorbike accident. His greatest achievement to date is becoming lead facilitator of Generation Valuable, a global leadership programme advancing disabled talent in partnership with executive leaders at major corporations like Coca-Cola and EY.
Ollie began his journey with a strong foundation in physicality and leadership, having trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and completed a BSc in Property Development at the University of Portsmouth. His career in the British Army was tragically cut short in 2012 following a serious accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury. The extensive rehabilitation that followed ignited his commitment to both performance and disability inclusion, shaping the mission that now drives his professional life. It was during this time that Ollie discovered adaptive sport, later competing internationally in sit-ski racing with the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team, which played a crucial role in rebuilding his confidence and self-worth.
Since transitioning from the military, Ollie has held senior leadership roles in both the charity and corporate sectors, including as Head of Partnerships & Client Solutions at Moving Ahead, and Senior Manager, DE&I Client Solutions at PageGroup, where he also founded a global disability ERG. He has raised over £1m for charity, represented the UK in professional adaptive skiing, and spoken at leading companies such as Adobe, Channel 4, AXA Insurance, and Jaguar Land Rover. In 2021, he was appointed a Trustee Board Member of Humanity & Inclusion UK, further cementing his influence in global humanitarian work. Ollie also works as an advisor and speaker to businesses, bringing both lived and professional experience to inform strategy and inspire cultural change.
Audiences should hire Ollie for his authenticity, insight, and ability to connect deeply with people across all levels of business and society. He speaks on topics including resilience, inclusive leadership, disability inclusion, navigating change, and high-performance culture. These themes are not only relevant but crucial in today’s ever-evolving professional landscape. Ollie’s unique perspective - forged through extreme adversity and honed through global leadership - offers powerful lessons for individuals and organisations ready to embrace change, challenge the status quo, and build truly inclusive environments.
