Nina’s career began at the National Democratic Institute, where she managed democracy assistance programs targeting Russia and Belarus and working to support democratic activists in these regions. Over her career, she has advised governments and international organisations, testifying before the United States Congress and the UK, Canadian and European Parliaments, leading accessible, actionable research about the effects of disinformation on women, minorities and democratic activists. She advised the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on disinformation and strategic communications under the auspices of a Fulbright Fellowship. She also holds a Master’s degree from the Centre for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
