Nikki Lilly, a British charity campaigner and television presenter has been regarded as an ‘inspirational young woman’ by former Prime Minister Theresa May. At the age of six, Nikki was diagnosed with arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a rare medical condition that has required numerous operations and has visibly changed her physical appearance. The youngest ever recipient of a BAFTA Special Award, Nikki is the picture of resilience and tenacity. When hired as a keynote speaker, Nikki is able to address topics such as mental health, resilience, diversity & inclusion and overcoming adversity.
To share her experiences of living with a 'visible difference', she began creating YouTube videos at the age of eight. Her channel covers topics including living with a chronic illness, bullying, mental health, baking, and beauty. A young social media sensation, Nikki has amassed over 2.9 million followers on YouTube and over 532K followers on Instagram. In 2019, Nikki was honoured with a BAFTA Special Award as recognition for her outstanding contributions to children’s media and work in raising awareness about social issues.
In 2016, Nikki won the fourth series of the Junior Bake Off competition. She has been the subject of the CBBC documentary series My Life: Born to Vlog and I Will Survive, having won an International Emmy Kids Awards for the former. In 2018, she began presenting the CBBC show Nikki Lilly Meets…, interviewing prominent personalities such as Katie Piper, Dermot O’Leary, and Claudia Winkleman. She has also interviewed dignitaries such as Theresa May – an incredible feat for someone her age.
Nikki and her parents established The Butterfly AVM Charity to raise awareness of AVM, fund research into the condition, and support sufferers and their families. In October 2020, she published her book, “Nikki Lilly's Come on Life: The Highs and Lows on How to Live Your Best Teen Life”.
