Mitch Hutchcraft is an extraordinary man who has never once backed down from a challenge, even when the odds were stacked against him. From being one of the youngest people to climb Mount Kilimanjaro solo – a feat accomplished at only 16 years of age – to completing the Ironman Triathlon with his golden retriever, he has made history time and time again. Even now, having already cycled 12,000km across 18 countries in India, ran 900km to Nepal, and trekked 360km to Everest’s base camp, Mitch is still setting records. On the 16th of April 2025, Mitch completed the world’s first triathlon to the top of the world, in the longest climb of Everest in history.
Such resilience wasn’t built overnight, however. Originally, Mitch was a zoologist, before transitioning to a life as a royal marine commando. However, he couldn’t seem to cut ties with his love for the natural world, and he was eager to see more of it at his own pace. So, alongside conservation fundraisers and supporting wildlife charities, Mitch began embarking on astounding expeditions. When he isn’t raising funds for mental health and natural conservation organisations, he’s rowing 5000km across the Atlantic Ocean and setting world records. All the while, he echoes a very specific sentiment: you don’t have to be superhuman to succeed in life.
This notion is something of a throughline across Mitch's keynote speeches; he's determined to help people transform their everyday abilities into their own personal superpowers. Between his experience with grief and loss and his time spent tackling the world’s harshest landscapes, he’s learned how to establish the mental strength needed to push ahead. This positivity underpins each of Mitch’s talks. He opens audiences’ eyes to how to do more than just survive. When Mitch takes to the stage, he reworks his prior pain into authentic lessons, applicable to businesses and individuals alike. To Mitch, accepting failure and sourcing your own tools for personal resilience is the best way to thrive in any setting.
If you’re hoping to host an event that draws on the experiences of a man who, despite not classing himself as a super athlete, has swam the English Channel and set world records in the Lake District, Mitch Hutchcraft is the man for you. Delivering raw and relatable anecdotes alongside gripping tales of his many expeditions, Mitch creates an atmosphere rich with wonder and positivity – one that he hopes will encourage people to look at life through a new lens.
