Michael Allison is an entrepreneur and bestselling author, renowned as the creator of the Adversity Leadership® methodology. Leading in high-pressure and extreme environments, he is a former Sergeant and Amphibious Assault Section Leader in the U.S. Marine Corps. Drawing from his vast experience across military, higher education and entrepreneurship, Michael is a powerful keynote speaker who combines leadership science with real-world stories and application.
Serving in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years, Michael became a non-commissioned officer and combat leader, where he managed military assets and led high-pressure combat operations in Iraq. After establishing his leadership principles in the military, Michael worked as a project manager for railroad operations before directing military initiatives for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and later at Florida Atlantic University. During this time, he also gained professional qualifications in business, neuroscience and trauma recovery. In 2018, he began his entrepreneurial journey as the Franchise Founder and CEO of LIME Painting, which he scaled to gain INC 5000 recognition as one of the fastest-growing companies in America. In 2020, he founded The Adversity Leadership Institute, which develops leadership frameworks such as Adversity Leadership and Protect The House to strengthen organisations and institutions.
Michael is the author of the Amazon bestseller ‘Break The Bottle’, which shares personal stories, neuroscience insights and actionable strategies for achieving success. He has also written the memoir ‘Overcoming Adversity’, drawing on his combat experience and corporate leadership roles. Michael received multiple military honours, including the Purple Heart, National Defence Service and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. His extraordinary journey and work have been featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show, USA Today, NBC and other national media outlets.
