Melanie Murphy Richter

Melanie Murphy Richter is an award-winning registered dietitian and communications leader with a Master’s in Nutrition, Healthspan, and Longevity. Currently serving as L-Nutra’s Director of Communications, she bridges scientific rigour with human connection, translating complex longevity research into accessible, evidence-based nutrition strategies that empower people to take charge of their health. Melanie has worked across education, clinical nutrition and communications and is devoted to helping others live youthfully and with purpose. She brings this passion directly into her talks on longevity, science and nutrition, making her a fantastic speaker to engage audiences at industry conferences, summits and forums. 

Melanie graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Journalism and Public Relations and followed up with a Master's in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity from the University of Southern California. In 2010, she served as a Nutrition Educator at the Athens Community Council on Ageing, where she developed her scientific and people-led approach to nutrition. With a keen interest in communications, she later joined Scott Public Relations as an Account Executive and Digital Marketing Manager, before moving to Brighter.com to be their Public Relations and Social Media Manager. In 2014, she launched Melanie Murphy Public Relations while also working as a Public Relations Consultant and Client Manager for Brand Culture Company LLC. By 2016, Melanie was the Director of Public Relations at HealthWell PR, and completed her Master's in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Southern California a year later. Melanie then founded Wholistic Ritual in 2019, a clinical nutrition practice and platform with a gut-centred approach to human health and longevity. 

In 2020, Melanie became the Lead Dietitian for USC’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs and was a Clinical Nutrition Advisor to Tera in 2022. That same year, she officially became a Registered Dietitian from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Melanie additionally teaches Nutrition Physiology Through the Lifespan as a Lecturer at the University of California. For her incredible work and contribution to the nutrition field, Melanie received the Young Dietitian of the Year Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2023. As a speaker, Melanie is invited to a range of events and was a panellist at both Startup Cafe in Los Angeles (presented by The KINN) and the Wellness Panel at The Confidence Summit. In 2026, she spoke at the LA Times Studios 5th Annual Inspiring Women’s Forum, where she explored body literacy in the age of AI. She also shares her insights on a range of media platforms, and has been interviewed in Parade Magazine and VogueLA, and featured as a guest speaker on the Passion, Purpose and Possibilities Podcast with Candice Snyder.
