Max Armstrong

Broadcaster and agricultural speaker, Max Armstrong, is one of the most influential figures in modern farming. Widely recognised as an authority on agriculture, he has spent over three decades speaking to audiences of farmers, industry experts and consumers. His knowledge and experience have led to Max becoming the Director of Broadcasting for Farm Progress Companies as well as the co-host and co-founder of the national farm television show This Week in AgriBusiness.

After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Radio and Television in 1975, Max started working as a Broadcast Editor at Illinois Farm Bureau for two years. In 1977, Max moved to WGN-TV, before spending thirty years at U.S. Farm Report, as a Host and Contributing Reporter. During this period, he remained at WGN Radio AM 720, giving agribusiness reports to captivated listeners.

In 1992, for 22 years, Max was the Fire Commissioner for the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District. In this role, he worked with firefighters and paramedics for the organisation. A multifaceted professional, he also worked as a voice-over artist for RFD-TV during this period, recording sporting promotions for numerous shows. This experience led Max to become a free-lance voice-over announcer, working on such projects as NCIS's Left For Dead episode and The Farm by the Museum Of Science & Industry, Chicago.

Having spent decades in broadcasting, combined with his extensive knowledge of farming, Max co-founded This Week In Agribusiness. As the co-host, he appears on over 100 local commercial television stations alongside Orion Samuelson. In 2009, Max became the Director of Broadcasting at Farm Broadcast. In this role, he hosts the Farm Progress America and Max Armstrong's Midwest Digest daily radio programs.

Additionally, Max's experience with Farm Progress has opened opportunities for him to take to the stage. As a moderator, speaker and event host, he features at prestigious agricultural events to share his knowledge an interesting, insightful manner. The published author has become a well-regarded face on the circuit, with industry exhibitions and conferences eager to hear from such an expert.

As a testament to his work, Max has received a number of career-defining awards. He was awarded the Honorary Master Farmer in 2018 by Prairie Farmer Magazine, an accolade that reflects his influential work with the farming industry. Upon releasing his Tractor App, Max was awarded the Best of NAMA award. He was also recognised by the American Agricultural Editors' Association and American Web Design Awards.
