TV presenter and journalist Mary Rhodes is one of the leading female sports journalists and commentators currently working in the British media. With a career that includes working as a TV presenter for the BBC and regular appearances as a commentator and reporter on BBC Radio 4’s flagship series The Today Programme, Mary has become one of the most well known female journalists in her field.
In her capacity as a sports journalist and TV presenter Mary has reported on a number of high profile sporting events including the Olympic and Commonwealth Games as well as Wimbledon and the Cricket World Cup. Though her interest may lie in sports Mary has also worked as a TV presenter for a number of other programme types including presenting the BBC’s Sunday morning show Heaven and Earth. She continues however to work regularly as a sports correspondent for the BBC, contributing to BBC World and became the first sports presenter on the BBC News at Ten service back in 2000.
More recently Mary has worked as TV presenter for Channel 4’s golfing programme The Challenge and extending her journalistic skills beyond that of TV presenter has been contributing to The Guardian newspaper as a travel writer. Mary is also an accomplished media trainer and conference host and has worked as an after dinner speaker at a number of corporate events.
