Having moved into broadcasting from the sports agency, Hayter's in 1978, he began a career as a football commentator in Radio City. Soon he was greenlighted to join the TV-am team, and by 1987 was a main presenter on Good Morning Britain.
Wanting to pursue his passion of sports journalism, Keys joined Sky Sports in 1992 and would spend present their flagship football programming for close to two decades.
He would also enjoy a spell at ITV presenting football matches, as well as presenting two Tour de France tournaments for Channel 4. In 2011, he would join boxing promoter, Frank Warren to launch the boxing channel, Boxnation. Today, Keys presents Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup coverage for BeIN Sports from Doha, Qatar, where he also records his Talksport slot alongside Andy Gray.
Throughout his illustrious career in football broadcasting, Keys has been on screen for over 4500 matches, including World Cup, Champions League and FA Cup Finals. He has also carved out a career as an event host, facilitator and football speaker, where he has been called upon to speak at corporate, sporting and charity events throughout the world.
