British journalist and presenter, Anne Davies is best known as one of the hosts of the local BBC topical programme East Midlands Today where she presents alongside fellow television and radio presenter Dominic Heale. Anne began her journalism career working behind the scenes for a number of high-profile BBC television series', including Question Time, The Money Programme and Panorama, her first forays into working as a television and radio presenter came when she made the move to the Midlands and began working for BBC Radio Leicester and BBC Radio Derby.
In order to develop her skills as a TV presenter Anne took part in the ITN News Trainee Scheme which helped to secure her a position as the newsreader for Central News East. Anne Davies’ finally reached a national audience when she began hosting the ITV daytime programme Look Good Feel Great with fellow TV presenter Diana Moran, along with the environmental series Earthdwellers Guide and, working as both producer and host, ITV’s fashion series Off The Peg.
Several years of successful work for ITV followed as Anne fronted the first morning broadcast of GMTV with fellow TV presenter Eamon Holmes, as well as working as the newsreader and presenting her own cookery segment for the programme. In 2001 Anne returned to the BBC and has worked as the TV presenter for East Midlands Today ever since, whilst working on the show Anne has received two Royal Television Society awards for her coverage of the Madeline McCann story and the Olympic Torch Relay special. During this time she also worked as a host for five series of the documentary programme Inside Out as well working in print journalism as a compere for charity and corporate events and launched her own cooking and baking business.
