Marti Pellow

Marti Pellow is one of Scotland’s most celebrated singers, best known as the charismatic frontman of Wet Wet Wet and for a hugely successful career spanning pop music, solo performance and musical theatre. With one of the most recognisable voices in British music, Marti has enjoyed decades of chart success, selling more than 15 million records worldwide and helping Wet Wet Wet achieve 27 UK Top 40 singles, four Number 1 albums and 20 times platinum certification in the UK. Today, he continues to captivate audiences with powerful live performances, combining timeless hits with an accomplished solo catalogue and an enduring passion for entertaining.

Marti’s career began as a teenager when he formed a band with school friends that would become Wet Wet Wet. The group quickly rose to become one of Britain’s biggest pop acts, producing a string of hit singles and albums that established them as household names. Their cover of 'Love Is All Around' became one of the defining songs of the 1990s, spending an unprecedented 15 consecutive weeks at the top of the UK Singles Chart, a record that still stands for a UK artist. Following a break from the band, Marti embarked on a solo career, recording the platinum-selling album 'Smile' with legendary producer Willie Mitchell in Memphis. His connection with the city was recognised when he was presented with the Keys to the City of Memphis, while the White House officially proclaimed 9 May as Marti Pellow Day in Memphis.

Alongside his recording career, Marti established himself as one of Britain's most respected musical theatre performers. He took the West End by storm, starring in Chicago, breaking box office records before reprising the role on national tour, in Japan and on Broadway. He later earned a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical at the What’s On Stage Awards and enjoyed further acclaim as Che in Evita and The Arbiter in the 25th anniversary concert production of Chess at the Royal Albert Hall. Away from theatre, he explored jazz with acclaimed pianist Jim Watson, producing the album Sentimental Me and headlining prestigious venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott’s, the Dubai Jazz Festival and the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. He has also performed at major televised events, including the BBC's Thank You For The Music and Elvis Forever concerts in Hyde Park.
