Celebrity chef Mark Baumann has made a name for himself across Essex and the South as both an impressive restaurateur and a charismatic TV personality. With his popular high end restaurant Baumann Brasserie and a number of guest appearances on cookery shows Mark has established himself as a truly great British chef.
Beginning his career aged just 21 Mark knew he had truly reached celebrity chef status when he joined forces with the infamous Irish entrepreneur Peter Langan and opened what was then called Langan’s Brasserie in Coggeshell, Essex in 1988. Following the sudden and tragic death of Langan Mark made the decision to continue running the establishment on his own and the restaurant has remained hugely popular ever since.
Mark has appeared as a celebrity chef on a number of television broadcasts including fronting his own series for ITV Anglia TV, Baumann Goes to Market. He has also worked alongside other famous TV and celebrity chefs including fellow Essex based chef, Jamie Oliver.
As a celebrity chef and restaurateur Mark Baumann is known for his interesting recipes, unusual ingredients and farm fresh sources. He has surprised his guests in the past by offering kangaroo meat and asparagus ice cream at his high end restaurant. His creativity and courage also extends outside the kitchen as Mark includes jet skiing and bare back horse riding among his hobbies; not to mention the celebrity chef promotional photography which depicts him bound and gagged!
