Liz Johnson

Paralympic Swimmer Liz Johnson has experienced successes at the pinnacle of her sport for the past number of years. Suffering with cerebral palsy, Johnson who competes within the S6 category is a London 2012 Olympian, who claimed the bronze medal within the 100m breaststroke competition. An eloquent after dinner speaker and Olympic speaker, Liz Johnson is an exceptional addition to any event.

Welsh born Johnson took up swimming at only 3 years old, ultimately being chosen to represent Team GB at the age of just 14. An experienced sports speaker, Johnson continued her meteoric climb up through the world of Paralympic swimming, earning a reputation as a future swimming superstar by winning Silver at her first Paralympics in 2004.

The Paralympic swimming star is most famous for her Beijing 2008 success which came tinged with ultimate sadness. Losing her mother to terminal cancer 11 days prior to the race, Johnson took to the pool to do her mother and Britain proud. Whilst many other athletes would turn away and return home, Liz Johnson continued with her journey knowing that her ultimate aim was to do her mother proud.
