Kimberley Wilson is a Chartered Psychologist, qualified Nutritionist, and a finalist on the Great British Bake Off. On a mission to demystify common psychological theories, Kimberley tackles several complex topics relating to nutrition and mental health on her social media and through her media and consulting work. Firmly believing that mental and physical health are interlinked, she uses a whole-body mental health approach to address mental health care. When booked for speaking engagements, Kimberley can eloquently speak on disordered eating, the gut-brain axis, and the emotional relationship with food.
Possessing a degree in nutrition, Kimberley is a highly qualified individual who combines evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle factors with psychological therapy during her practice. Showcasing phenomenal acumen, she has held several notable positions, including Governor of The Tavistock and Portman NHS Mental Health Trust. Kimberley was also formerly the Chair of the British Psychological Society’s Training Committee in Counselling Psychology, and she led therapy services at HMP and YOI Holloway - at one point this was the largest women’s prison in Europe.
Believing in the power of psychology to transform lives, Kimberley disseminates this message as the host of the Made of Stronger Stuff podcast, which is broadcast on BBC Radio 4. On the podcast, alongside Dr Xand van Tulleken, she explores different parts of the human body in detail, examining how a better understanding of how the body works can foster positive change. Moreover, Kimberley is the author of How to Build a Healthy Brain, which delves into how people can protect and maintain a healthy brain, backing her claims with scientific data to create a reliable guide for people to follow.
As a distinguished authority in her field, Kimberley regularly appears on expert panels and TV programmes, such as the Lorraine Show on ITV and various Channel 4 documentaries as a mental health expert. She has also written articles for prestigious publications and academic journals, including PSYCHE, Vogue, BBC Science Focus Magazine, The British Psychological Society and more. As well as being an eloquent speaker on nutrition and mental health, Kimberley is also a highly sought-after consultant who is regularly consulted by leading international brands.
