Khadeeja Balkhi

Khadeeja Balkhi is a global sustainability expert, with over 20 years of experience in the field under her belt. Founder & Director of Sustainability at the Balkhi Strategy Group, she developed and executed sustainability strategies, working with organisations such as Coca-Cola, ICI, National Foods, OMV and Microfinance Network. As a keynote speaker, Khadeeja elaborates on circular & regenerative economies, strategies for success, and family business.

Khadeeja’s educational qualifications include a BSc in International Business from Converse University and BSc in Chemistry from Rider University. Throughout her career, Khadeeja has worked as a journalist at publications such as the Saudi Gazette, where she published 60 articles in her capacity as a business journalist. During her tenure as a Corporate Responsibility Consultant at Engro Chemical, she wrote the organisation’s first CSR report which won several accolades. Since then, Khadeeja has been lauded for her work in the realm of CSR, winning the CSR Europe Young Journalist Award in 2020. Today, she is the CEO & Editor in Chief of The CSR Journal.

Co-Founder & Editorial Director of Triple Bottom-Line, Khadeeja offered her CSR and strategic communications planning expertise to clients. As the Board Director at Code for Pakistan, Khadeeja aimed to raise civic awareness and engagement by creating an open-source technology where civic needs can be addressed. Khadeeja also regularly contributes to publications such as Forbes, Newsweek, Arab News and The National Herald. Her journalistic prowess has led her to win the CNN Young Journalist Award as well.

In her role as Sustainability & Excellence Advisor at Ashghal, the Qatar Public Work Authority, she co-developed the Ashghal, which used principles of circular & regenerative economies. Khadeeja’s expertise lies in helping companies grow, stick to their vision, and enhance productivity, energy savings and renewable energy integration.
