Actress Kate Connerty, previously Kate Ford, is one of the most recognisable women in contemporary British TV; known for her long standing role in the ITV soap Coronation Street Kate Ford has also appeared in a variety of other television series and theatrical productions.
Making her debut as an actress in the early 2000’s Kate Ford first appeared on Coronation Street in 2002 as the fourth actress to play to part of Tracy Barlow. Taking up the role as the adult Tracy, Kate brought a darker side to the once innocent child of the Street and was applauded for the new depth she gave to the character.
Awarded four British soap awards for her work as an actress on Coronation Street, Kate Ford stayed on the show until 2007 when she left the show to pursue other opportunities and to begin a family with her new husband, TV producer Jon Connerty.
Tracy Barlow and Kate Ford returned to Coronation Street in 2010, where she has remained a staple of the show’s large ensemble cast. During her time on the show Ford has worked alongside some of the most well respected actors and actresses in British drama and participated in some of the most thrilling and explosive storylines in soap opera history, including her trail and imprisonment for the murder of Charlie Stubbs.
Now released Kate Ford is back causing havoc on the Street and has once again become one of the UK’s most beloved but troublesome characters. Outside her work as an actress, Ford is known as an active supporter of PETA’s anti-fur campaign and has modelled both as part of the campaign as professionally.
