Jules Hudson's passion surrounds the countryside and he's best known for being the leading presenter of Escape to the Country, BBC's hit property series. Jules passion has also lead to him being a part of the rural affairs show Countryfile.
Working in some of the most demanding countries, Jules travelled the world as a field archaeologist before starting his Television career in 1996. His career started in production and behind the cameras on the likes of BBC2's Horizon, C4's Time Team and numerous military history series. Jules gained a RTS nomination in 2005 for a series he developed and presented for ITV, this was called Revival. By 2006 Jules received his first network break with The Peoples' Museum on BBC Daytime.
Jule's presented BBC's renovation series, Britain's Empty Homes, this role allowed his interest in historic buildings and design underpins to shine through. However Jules lifelong passion was for military history which he was able to cover in BBC1's Dig 1940, this also provided jules with his first solo primetime break.
By 2012 Jules had become part of an ambitious fifteen part series of which he co-presented with John Craven, this was based around the challenges facing our heritage. In addition to presenting, Jules also continues to engage readers with his regular contributions to Countryfile Magazine as well as Homes and Gardens.
Jules is the President of CPRW which is a Welsh national charity, the aims of this charity are to protect and enhance the country's landscapes and environment. In 2013, Jules was awarded an honorary fellowship from the University of Wales for his service to history. Jules proved his 20th century military expertise when he won his specialist round during 2012 Celebrity Mastermind.
